Deadlines!

Perhaps the single most important thing to you (next to your bottom line) is the deadline. Be sure to have a clear idea of when you need your project by some of the things to consider are print and revamp times. Often projects can be done in one shot without much revision however it is always safe to budget more than a marginal timeframe for success!

Sub-Contracting

Design templates for CDs, DVDs, Posters etc can be used as well as a custom fit for any application. Photographs and logos must conform to copyright, publishing and creative infringement laws. Web design may be as easy as a couple of lines of code and some pictures or include integrated and interactive online client services.

We reserve the right to subcontract out work to our contacts that we deem may have an 'angle' with regards to the era or feel that is desired. This leverage allows us to utilize the most contemporary designers (think: 'hungry, Los Angeles, now!') or the ultimate in renaissance talent (think: 'Italy, Piazza-Navona, steeped in elegance'). Often we will get you there by ourselves as the talent here is afire with ideas! This also allows us to negotiate the best price to reduce print costs as well.

We endeavor to maintain the highest business design standards that preserve both ethical and confidential practices. We will never claim sole credit for collaborative efforts. We will not misrepresent our clients in any form. The focus of our function as your design team will be to expedite maximum enterprise for your endeavor.

Please be as thorough as possible when submitting the scope of the project.

  • Is the project primarily informative or persuasive?
  • Who is the audience or who is the target?
  • Is the target uni or multi-cultural?
  • Is this something that may be used as a brand in the future?
  • Will this project eventually be scaled up (from postcard to billboard)?
  • Gather ideas around fonts, concepts and pictures you would like utilized.
  • All scripts, contacts, logos and sponsor info should be presented upon first draft.
  • When is the deadline?
  • How much is my budget and how do I maximize dollar value?

Piano, Theater, Art, Writing...

Espressivo Studio is an all inclusive approach to the arts. Primarily a piano studio the kids build on their creative skills by integrating many different art forms into their usual piano regiment (think Verdi). I enjoyed the challenge of doing this flash media spot from scratch and loved the fluidity of the design. I always enjoy collaborating with Tangent Arts!

Edmonton Poetry Fest (EPF)

I had a wonderful oportunity to help shape the framework as well as put togeether the website for Edmonton's first Poetry festival! Here's a screenshot I dug up. This was back when flash did only half the work for you and frames were still somewhat acceptable on the WWW!

If you enjoy poetry check back with the folks at edmontonpoetryfestival.com as they import alot of talent to produce a word-class festival.
